Villanova University is excited to announce its Fourth Annual Intercollegiate Irish Dance Festival! The event will take place on Saturday, October 1st in the Jake Nevin Field House conveniently, located on Villanova University’s campus.

 

The competition will begin at 11:00 am and continue until around 4 pm. Teams will be performing traditional dances, including 4-hand figure and 8-hand figure, and non-traditional treble reel. Prizes will be awarded to the top four winning participants in each category. Doors for the Grand Irish Show and Live Competition will open at 5:30 pm with the showing beginning around 6:00. Each team will perform a self-choreographed “fun number” in front of a panel of judges. Come enjoy traditional Irish dancing with a creative twist and modern flare.

 

Past participants have included competitors from the University of Dayton, Boston College, Penn State University, Fordham University, West Virginia University, the University of Rochester, Georgetown University, The Catholic University of America, and Temple University.

 

Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for children ages 14 and below and can be purchased at the door! Students with ID are $5.  Admission price includes the entire day festivities. Click here for a presale discount of $8.00! For group discounts click here.
